This painting,
"Hosta Lament", a 72"x54" oil on canvas is
of fallen "Sieboldiana" hostas, once sculptural, glaucous
green and three feet hight, now yellow and flattened becoming
a backdrop for the fallen leaves of surrounding deciduous trees.
I have painted unbleached cotton
cloth with fabric dye to create pieces that can be either hung as
decorative elements or worn as durable garments, completely washable
and colourfast. Although no images are shown here, I have also made
curtains, pillow covers, shorts, dresses, vests, and bags.
